About Brenda Griffin
Dr. Griffin is an adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in Shelter Medicine at the University of Florida. Her professional interests surround shelter animal behavior and welfare, population health and wellness, and strategies to prevent animals from entering shelters. Dr. Griffin was a co-founder of the Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs. She served on the Association of Shelter Veterinarians’ Board of Directors. She is a co-author of ASV’s Guidelines for High Quality High Volume Spay Neuter and ASV’s Guideline for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters. She served as the Regent for the new specialty in Shelter Medicine: ABVP-SMP and remains actively involved with leadership. Currently, she is the lead author for the Fear Free Shelter Program. Dr. Griffin lives in South Carolina.
